The hike to Ella Rock starts along the railway track and takes you through beautiful tea plantations. If there’s one hike you have to do in Sri Lanka, it’s Sigiriya Rock. This ancient rock fortress is the most iconic sight in Sri Lanka. Once the royal palace of the King, now only ruins remain atop this rock, but their historical significance lives on. The hike takes approximately 2 hours round trip.

While this rock may not have the same historical significance as Sigiriya rock, it offers the best vantage point to admire the view of Sigiriya rock. The hike is not very long but steep enough to get your heart rate up. The view from the top will leave you in awe as you witness Sigiriya rock majestically rising above the dense forest. Adam’s Peak
Adam’s Peak is a pilgrimage that Sri Lankans embark on throughout the year, especially during national holidays. The peak is believed to be the Sacred Footprint of the Buddha as he ascended to paradise.
